Season's Changing
It's that time again! Spring is almost here! It's time to collect your child's winter clothes and replace them with spring clothing (long sleeves, please).

Friendly Reminder
Please check your child's calendar and menu items daily.

More Parent Reminders!
  • Please update your child's health records (immunizations and physicals.)
  • Please sign your child in and out daily in the lobby and your child's classroom.
  • Please contact the VLC staff if your child will be absent or arriving late, so we can plan accordingly.
  • Update all phone numbers, addresses, immunizations and other contact information at the front office ASAP.
  • Please make sure your child has a healthy, daily snack, change of clothes, blankets, etc.

Pandemic EBT (P-EBT): An Update on State Plans
The Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) program, authorized through the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, provides states a critical opportunity to provide support, efficiently and comprehensively, to families that rely on free or reduced-price school meals when school is open. Through P-EBT, states can issue eligible households an EBT card with the value of the free school breakfast and lunch reimbursement rates for the number of weekdays that schools are closed due to COVID-19 (estimated to be around $5.70 per day).

Virginia Families May Qualify for Federal Food Program
Families of Virginia students who receive free or reduced lunches at school qualify for a Pandemic Electronic Balance Transfer (EBT) of $370 per child.

Virginia was recently added to the U.S. Department of Agriculture program through the Families First Coronavirus Response Act of 2020.

Both SNAP and non-SNAP households are eligible for the benefit.

Governor Northam Issues a Statewide Home Order 
On Monday, March 30, Virginia Governor Ralph Northam issued a mandatory home order for Virginia effective immediately. The order will remain in place until June 10 or until otherwise changed. Read full details here.
